I work in tv - nothing grand, just Ap or Prod/Direct programmes for a small channel. I've had my first child recently and really don't want to go back to the stress, looooong hours, weekend shoots / late night edits etc of the business. I don't know any women in TV who have babies except maybe a few high power execs (who can afford to have nannies etc!). Did you work in tv and decide to go back or did you decide to stay home and become SAHM?

That is exactly what I'm afraid of!!! I've told work that I'd only go back part time and it doesnt bother me that I may have to take a 'step down' in role to do it - but - what I don't want is for them to expect me to fit in five days work into three days in the office - and only get paid for the three days!!! I really feel for your friend. TV is def a man's world! Angry

Realised when I was pg with DD1 that I couldn't and didn't want to go back to being a freelance producer in entertainment/comedy TV. Best decision I ever made. Am writing for TV now. Other women I know have gone into programme development and one woman, whose kids are older now has gone back to producing. Really feel for you. Hope you can find a solution that works. Hated producing to be honest, took over my life in quite a bad way.
