my usual stylist wasnt there and i can only afford to go about about three times a year for a cut and colour. this other girl has cut it beautifully and it does look nice. only thing is its nothing like the colour i asked for. it should have been a renewal of my tragically faded and six inch rooted blonde. its dark brown! she knew it wasnt what i asked for, told me i could come back if it wasnt "blonde" enough and that maybe it was a "shock"!! should i be nice, phone her up, say how lovely it is but can i come back for the colour it was supposed to be? or will my hair fall out with any more bleach and one peed off stylist Grin it was very expensive or i wouldnt mind but now i cant afford to have it done again for about 6 months. she spent such a lot of time on it too.

Just shave it all off nightowl ... Grin

ghosty · 31/03/2006 03:13

Can you get it redone for free seeing as it wasn't what you asked for?

nightowl · 31/03/2006 03:24

i wouldnt think so ghosty. its very well done and looks very nice. just a thousand shades darker!! for £100 though...it was my birthday treat and i really cant afford it again!! i had to save forever just to get it.

It sounds lovely ... why don't you keep it as it is for a change? When I was skint I went back to my natural colour for a while so that I didn't have to keep doing the 'root' thing ....

nightowl · 31/03/2006 03:34

yeah but i look my age with brown (natural colour) hair!! it shows my wrinkles up lovely.

I hate it when they don't blonde me enough.

If she told you to come back if it wasn't blonde enough why don't you call and clarify if that meant 'for free'. How on earth did she manage to get you dark brown instead of blonde?

nightowl · 31/03/2006 03:47

havent a clue. but she said things like "your brown colour wil fade and get lighter", "it may be a shock" and "come back if you want more blonde". so im taking that as "oh dear, ive buggered it up". im not going back if i have to pay, i'll wait for my stylist to come back from maternity leave!

Hmm. Does sound like a bugger-up. I would call pronto and demand a re-colour and conditioning before she forgets you.

Polgara2 · 31/03/2006 09:53

Agree with Arfissimeau. If it's not the colour you asked for then she should correct it for free, especially at that price. If I spent that much on my hair DH would leave me I think!! (Not that I have that much to spend on hair!!)

I've been going to the same hairdresser for 7 years. Once the colourist didn't really give me what I asked for and at £70 I thought I deserved it. I gingerly rang up and told them it wasn't quite right - they couldn't have been more apologetic. They did it the same day no questions and no charge. They said they were glad I'd rung up and said something rather that then sit at home slagging them off and unhappy.

Give them a ring and explain, I'm sure they won't mind and will try and right it for you.

starlover · 31/03/2006 10:13

if she gave you the wrong colour she should do it again for free!
it isn't what you asked for, and she obviously messed up
it doesn't matter how good a job she did on the hair... it isn't what you wanted!
