looking for wall transfers or similar for a girls bedroom... base colour will be yellow... i'm thinking flowers, butterflies. dd loves fifi and the flowertots. When finished the room has got to say 'you really want to sleep in here' to my dd, who says she doesnt like her current bedroom!

Paint your own butterflies in little groups around the room.

I did insects for dd and i'm not arty but they turned out ok! Smile She has a caterpillar going round the door frame, butterflies, ladybirds and other insects in little groups. And then i let her do a row of her own hand prints.

I think my dd thinks its extra special because she 'helped' paint it.

honestly, if i did it , it would look like a 2 year old did it... may as well let dd loose with a pot of paint!

We painted DD's room just the way she wanted it. She is happy to sleep in there but it didn't stop her drawing all over the walls and wardrobe with blue crayon. She is 7 so I thought she would have known better. Angry

Spinach you can get some really great ideas from story books and nick them - you can them trace them using carbon paper straight onto the wall and paint. I did this with ds's nursery when he was tiny (soon got bored of it and did something else) You don't need to be arty, just to have a steady hand.

MLV, thats a good idea...thanks

charliecat · 29/03/2006 21:26

just postage would be fine, im not sure how much it would be though. Possibly 7.20 as IIRC thats what heavy stuff usually is!

spinach · 29/03/2006 21:32

ok... I'll get dd to look at it tomorrow and see if she likes it and I'll let you know, thanks.

charliecat · 29/03/2006 21:35

ok :)

handlemecarefully · 29/03/2006 21:38

Do you get Mini Marvellous, Great Little Trading company, Letterbox etc (if not, they all have websites) - tonnes of room accessories, decorations, wall transfers etc in them

Georgiesmum · 03/04/2006 09:38

You could buy some fifi wrapping paper and cut out the charcters and use then on the walls. I decorated DD toy box that way!
