Spaz!!

Sorry about the thread title, but I wanted to grab your attention.

I caught some of the Bratz cartoon on the new Citv channel the other day and I heard someone use the term 'spaz'. They were referring to a cat, but even so, I don't think it's on.

Do you think it's worth trying to do something about it? If so, where should I start?

I can't remember when it was on Blu, one day last week. It's on the new CITV channel.

Just seen this, lou33 can I ask about the apology from Richard Curtis- about what specifically? I am thinking of complaining about something in Love Actually to him.

He wrote and applogised about the use of the word in love actualy. IIRC he wrote to all the Mnetters who complained to him.

The appology seems to be hreatfelt and made no excuses for his behaviour at all IIRC.

Did he??! Shock Am impressed, you are right, does seem genuine then. Can't remember that bit in L.A. but as the bit that upset me still does, maybe I should write to him too. Thanks for replying!

Just had a reply from CITV. I'll cut and paste it here.

Thank you for your recent email regarding the above.

We have now received a reply from one of the producers on CITV which I
have pleasure in showing below:-

I understand the use of the word in America is apparently a little
different, in that it is in more common usage, and generally used just
to mean clumsy and not to refer to someone who has learning difficulties
or special needs. However, it has been cut from Bratz for UK
transmission now, and should not go out on air again.

It is not CITVs intention to offend, or do anything other than foster
empathy between all children.

Thank you for your interest in the show- I hope this not has not spoiled
your overall enjoyment of CITV.

Best wishes and once again many thanks for taking the trouble to contact
ITV with your feedback.
