Everyone ill, DH abroad on business and DS and DD need to be a ladybird and bee by Saturday afternoon. I've got as far as black tights but the wings and stripes are defeating me...

Bee = black top, with yellow or orange stripes sewn on (fleece, fake fur etc whatever you can get) Wings - does your DD have any fairy wings? They'll do! I had a bee costume as a child and IIRC the wings were bent coat hangars with some sort of packing material (like the thin stuff you get wrapped round electical items) stuck over them!!

Ladybird - as above but with red plus black spots :)

Thank you all. I must get out from the bathroom and sort this out. I thought the making part could be a family fun activity for Saturday morning with a jetlagged DH (gets back late on Friday).

The only fancy dress I ever wore was as a maypole... I still fail to see why my mother thought this was a good idea.

Cod - never fancied dressing up as a bee then? Wink

Dress them all in green or black

Buy a cap in red add black dots and antennae
Buy a black/yellow cap add stripes and wings

Sorted

"I must get out from the bathroom" You MN from your bathroom?

Gem13 · 23/03/2006 20:04

No soupy, I don't MN from the bathroom but feel like I have lived in there for the last couple of days! We don't normally do 'bugs' (as in 'there's a bug going round at the moment') so I really can't cope with the sick and the poo. DS had been sick in his sleep (!) the other night and I had to share a bed with him as we were at a friend's house - we'll be invited there again like a shot! Even after he and the bed were cleaned up he still smelt horrid.

I think DH being chief costume maker is penance for leaving me with a house of illness Grin.
