help! Vomit everywhere - best way to get rid of it?!!

Dd was sick last night, all over bed, mattress, sheets, carpet, toys - you name it!! i've used 'Vanish' on the carpet but doesn't look any better. And don't know how to get rid of smell & stain on mattress?? Lots of you must have been here before - what's the best products to use to clean things up?? Any tips appreciated!!

I've read on mumsnet of course, Bicarb of Soda on the sicky carpet with suck up the smell, then it can be vacced away.

for the smell use bicarb of soda. Sprinkle it on a dry mattress and leave for as long as you can (pref over-night), then hoover it off. It will neutralise the whiff.

I must admit I nicked it off someone else who had recommended it in the past.. probably you NDP!!

I have the same problem so I will cover DD's room in Bicarb but how do I get the smell out of her hair????????
HAve washed it twice,left the shampoo on for ages and she still whiffs....any ideas apart from shaving it off?
