How many pieces are there?

Can you colour code them in some way so that if it happens again it's not so painful?

spacedonkey · 22/03/2006 16:42

I'd chuck them out rather than sort them! Blush

NASWM · 22/03/2006 16:47

colour coding would be too sensible. After all, I should have done that the first timie he did it Blush

I know what you mean about chucking them, but DS1 would be so :(

You have all my sympathy - my DS has done this twice with one of his friends and i was almost in tears

Flamesparrow · 22/03/2006 16:50

If there aren't too many pieces then it can be therapeutic (DD is very skilled at emptying jigsaws!) if you can keep calm enough to enjoy it Wink

If there are oodles of pieces then maybe not!!!

spacedonkey · 22/03/2006 16:54

He wouldn't do it again though!

NASWM · 22/03/2006 17:07

I cant face it now. I'll wait until they are both in bed. I know I should get him to help me, but it will make it worse I know.

Deinitely do it later

yoyo · 22/03/2006 17:13

Anal tip - when you put the pieces together put numbers on the back (one number for each jigsaw) and put the corresponding number on the box. As they get older they can do the sorting themselves.

NASWM · 22/03/2006 17:14

yo yo that is great! easier than colour coding - fab. Think I might just do that tonight! You are my guru tonight!

That was the sort of thing I meant - on;y putting a blob of colour on the back of each jigsaw rather than a number (I numbered some and found they all looked the same when there were lots of them together).

Skribble · 22/03/2006 17:20

Use a big marker pen and attack the back of them quicker than writing numbers and cheaper than loads of stickers, having said that I haven't been arsed to do this. Buy ELC jigsaws in sets they are usually marked on the back.

NASWM · 22/03/2006 18:09

Just tidied one (with a shiny back so cant write on it). Went to put the dinner on and came back and he'd tipped it out again. He thinks this is a game. I am certainly not finding it funny. I cant put them away just yet as DS1 is really in to them at the moment.

just going to scream again. cover your ears:

aaaaarrrrrggggghhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
