What's the best way to wash a lambskin rug (used for baby)?

I washed one a while ago for the first time on a really delicate wool wash with a fast spin, left it to dry over the radiator then brushed it, but it didn't come up anything like it was when it was new. I bought another but this needs washing now too. Is there any way I can get it clean and keep it fluffy? Or do I have to send off for specialist lambskin hampoo. I don't have a tumble dryer btw.

I've found lambskin shampoo works best. Spirit of nature do a good one. \link{http://www.spiritofnature.co.uk/acatalog/sect741.html\lambskin shampoo - scroll to bottom}

thanks

Do you handwash or put it in the machine and how do you dry it?

Don't dry it on a radiator!

Machine wash on the lowest temperature wool wash and leave to dry naturally. Indoors or outdooors, preferably flat. When it's almost dry give in a gentle brush
