We're thinking of holidaying in England this summer for a week. The 2 priorities are - child friendly and not too far (we're near London).

Do we go to Devon, Cornwall ...... If so where exactly? Can't be the most expensive (i.e. no Forte Village budget) but not cheap and nasty either.

Have you been somewhere nice where a 1 and 6 yr old would be easily amused?

Help please

The Isle of Wight!!! It's great, loads and loads of stuff to do, good weather, lovely beaches, not too far to travel from London. We are going AGAIN in a couple of weeks time with my sister and her family and I can't wait.

Yes, I'm with IoW... we go back this summer for the fourth time.

Thank you both - sorry for delay (got caught up with life this weekend).

Okay - where in Isle of Wight do you stay? Hotel/cottage?

Anywhere else??

We tend to go to Cornwall these days.... lovely beaches and not too far for us to travel. This year we're going right down the bottom - about 5 miles from Lands End, near Penzance and not far from St Ives. We used to go to the west coast of Scotland a lot but it's a long drive and we can't face it these days with three kids - but it was perfect for families and in a few years time we'll be back. Pembroke is lovely....We stayed near Tenby a few years back - beautiful beaches, lots of castles which the kids loved.

Depends on what kind of things you like to do really.
