Well? I've lost 9 bets in a row! Blush
I only bet once or twice a year but I have just discovered Paddy Powers online and have really enjoyed betting and watching at home. Am I alone in my shameful pastime?

My dh has gone today. Hoping he'll come back with a few quid left. And not to plastered either with all that Guiness on sale!

I haven't bet on the horses for a while but when I was working, I used to enjoy a punt on spread betting every now and then - one of my colleagues and I were working on a programme to pick up any mispriced spreads but then I had kids and that put pay to that!

it's a mug's game really - gambling - but still quite enjoyable!

Oh yes it is totally a mugs game and this week I have definitely been a mug! But that said I do enjoy it Grin

At least you didn't break your neck jumping a fence Carmenere :( What on earth went on there yesterday, five horses dead :(
I steer clear of betting for the very good reason that I think a couple of goes and I'd be HOOKED!

I know, it's really sad, such beautiful animals! I think the jumps are too high.

No you're not alone. I love betting on the Gold Cup and Grand National, but limit it to those. I could easily get hooked though. Have no idea what I'm doing though. I used to live in Cheltenham and it was really exciting during the Festival. The locals that I worked with used to moan like hell when it was on, but I loved having a bit of atmosphere abou the place.

I meant to put a bet on on Friday and forgot Sad. I'm still trying to beat my best year though when I got 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the Gold Cup. Shame I only put a couple of quid on each one but we had a meal out on the profits.

Carmenere, Cheltenham has relatively low/easy jumps compared to Aintree

Carmenere · 18/03/2006 18:35

Well NDP it just goes to show I don't have a clue what I'm talking about as I lost every single bet that I put on this year Grin
So that's enough of that for the year (well maybe just one bet on the grand national).
I'm lucky really though, imagine if I had done well, I'd spend my whole time on Paddypower and run up loads of debt on dp's credit card Shock best avoided methinks!
