House is a mess, DS's are sitting in front room with chocolate waiting for the Power Rangers film to start, DD is asleep on the sofa and I'm sitting on the computer.....ho hum. I think we're all entitled to a day off every now and again.

popsycal · 22/12/2003 11:10

my house is a mess too
but at least the tree is now up......

FairyLou · 22/12/2003 11:18

I can pass the buck on this one today . I had to go and have my flu jab this morning. Three of mine were up, so I gave them breakfast, leaving ds2 in his chair eating. Told dh what was going on (working late so he was still in bed). Left the house at 9.15, and when I got back at 10, the poor thing was still sitting there waiting to get out, with dh snoring away!

He's out and about now though, all clean and dressed (ds not dh, he is still smelly )

GeorginaA · 22/12/2003 12:14

Twiglett - been there done that more times than I can count

I'd never get anything done or any space to myself if I didn't give myself a break sometimes. As well, now I'm preggers I consider it my duty to prepare ds for the fact that he's not going to get 100% attention 100% of the time anyway (but to molify my conscience I do try and make sure I've given him a decent slot of undivided attention at least once a day).

I think you're doing okay - no one is a perfect mother. You just have to aspire to be a "good enough" mother

House is a mess. Sitting her on mumsnet, thinking DD1 was colouring and DD2 was in her bouncy chair...turn round DD1 is drawing a moustache on her 11 week old sisters face. She looks like the baby out of the Adams Family movie now

whoops!

StarryStressyHead · 22/12/2003 12:35

Well not sure this makes a really bad mum but ds knows I am working and recovering from bad bout of sinusitus. He has just come down and heated our lunch up and served it to me, with a cup of tea and one of his Kit Kats. I was busy chatting on mumsnet at the time.

snowysam · 22/12/2003 12:35

Damn, Power Rangers is finished and the kids want attention. DD smells as well....... whens DH home?

snowysam · 22/12/2003 12:48

Am I a bad Mum, shall I count the ways...

  1. Don't buy organic ( too expensive)
  2. Use disposables
  3. Never use GF, CC or any other routine
  4. Let my kids eat sweets, crisps and drinks with additives
  5. Quite happy to let the kids watch TV and play playstation/x box/computer

(4 and 5 'in moderation' )

I'm sure theres more....

boozysoozywong · 22/12/2003 13:27

Snowysam, you took the word right out of my mouth, mine aren't old enough for x box, but by jingo if they were!

LOL MincePie

rudolphiota · 22/12/2003 14:17
