Who is Laura from Laura's Diary on Radio 1?

I've been listening to bits of this for a while and think it's great, but who is she and how did it get started exactly?

she is one of the producers i think, it all came about as she said that she kept a "memory box" from her teenage/uni days, her sister then contacted them and said that she had found it, and would read it out!!

It's absolutely hilarious! I'm so glad I didnt keep diaries when I was a teenager. Would never get over the humiliation.

Thanks for that, I've been wondering about that for ages. So, is this Laura completely fine with the diary being read out then? Has she edited it?

You can hear Laura squawking in the background at particularly embarrassing bits so I guess she's OK with it (she could always pull a plug out!)
