how do i get muddy footprint marks out of carpet

i cannot use the carpet cleaner as the carpet got no underlayer and the water goes straight thru

looking for sunmmat manually to sort the problem

Hi Biglips - has the mud dried so to speak? - if it has then hoover it up if it hasn't wait until it is and then back to hoovering. If that doesnt work then you'll have to do some gentle spot treatment ... let me know how you get on

yeah ive already hoovered it up as its dried but its a mixture of mud and black soot (as his bosses works van was up in flames this morning!)

Dustpan and brush for a gentle sweep - see if you can get more up - what colour carpet / wool? or a wool mix?
