Has anyone had to up and move with no warning?

I'm sure there are hundreds of you, and I need to talk. Looks like we could have to move fairly soon and I don't know where to. things are going pear-shaped and we may (very likely) have to leave our lovely house and surroundings and go elsewhere - the world is, in a manner of speaking, our oyster.
Strictly speaking this is not without warning, but we have really been hoping things wouldn't come to this. But I feel really shaken. It's funny, I have never really put roots down anywhere but maybe it's because I have had all my children here that I feel so devastated. DS1 is 5 and has done one term at (fee-paying) school. DD is 3 and DS2 1.5.
Anyone there to talk about this?

That's the thing, I don't really know anything. It's v difficult to talk to dh about it. Basically we will be forced to sell our home, and he says that if it comes to that (no so much the home-selling as the extreme situation) then he would rather just start afresh - ie no longer be involved with the business. He asked me tonight where I'd like to go which just made me cry as I thought it was so pointless. When it all happens and we have timings and figures to work with then I can be realistic but until then I can't help hoping that it won't happen. But as I have already said it looks v likely.
We could really go anywhere - even to the other side of the world. It's such a horrid thing to have hanging over us. i s'pose banks and things are strating to wind down at the end of the week and I just want to protect my children and give them a happy Xmas...
I know this seems garbled. I'm not really sure what I want to say. I have friends who are army wives and they move all the time but a) they always knew it would be like that and b) all their friends are doing it too. In our area there are a lot of people who move around a lot and they all seem to cope. I think it would be easier if we were being told we were going by someone faceless, and also where to.
