Just when I thought she couldn't get any worse!!

I have just found out DP has been living off packet mix rice and pasta since he has been staying with his mums. She (when she has been cooking) has been cooking his meals seperately and refusing to serve him any meat as it is too expensive. We're not really placed atm to be paying for two lots of shopping a week, my wages have halved, his has dropped by 1/5th. And we are buying a house!

His Dad meanwhile earns aroung 50k and she also works occaisionally. I can't believe he hasn't complained about it before. He's been there about 5/6 weeks now. Sad So he has been having to buy and make his own food if he wants anything decent, as he is not even allowed to make his own sandwiches. Do you think this is being extremely mean???

WHAT!!!! His own mother is refusing to feed him? Shock. OK I've had issues with my MIL as you know, but that is appalling. How long until it is all over and you are together again in your own place?

Oh Flossam, she is a witch, ffs not even feeding her son, that's fairly basic. I actually don't know what to say Angry on your behalf

Fingers crossed big time for you too. (the only advice I have is "rise above it as it will be over soon" and you have dp on your side - he clearly see's the problem - I'm slowly getting dh to see ours - although 2 weeks on holiday with m/f/sil and the "differences of opinion" made the picture clearer) .

That is terrible and no matter how much the Dad earns everyone can sit down and eat the same, that is what families do!

You would think so wouldn't you? I put how much he earns because she has told DP it is too expensive to feed him meat. Still hopefully we will all be together soon. Have I ever thanked you for all your help with the house hunting btw? If not, thank you, you had us looking in the right directions! Grin

Nothing that I know of. He loves his mum! He introduced me to her within two weeks of meeting him. She is/was very important to him. Sad
