Could be in real life, a movie, on tv or even read about in a book and gave you bad imagery. Anything at all.

Anything haunrted you like that from childhood? If so, what?

Working on the counter in a bank in my teens. One minute I was serving an old lady, then next I was looking at the wrong end of a gun.

It bothers me more now thinking about it than it did then.

Lucyellensmum99 · 04/08/2012 20:50

Invasion of the body snatchers - in fact anything with donald sutherland in it freaks me out.

In real life, i was terrified when i saw my dad after he passed away, when we visited in chapel of rest, they asked me if i wanted some time on my own - i practically pushed them out of my way Blush i dont know why that was :(

Lucyellensmum99 · 04/08/2012 20:50

Sparking, how awful for you :( I think that must trump most things tbh.

LordOfThe5Rings · 04/08/2012 20:53

Poor you, sparkling. it is one of those things you act on at the time and afterwards really freaks you out.

It was horrible, but long enough ago now to just think about it now and then. I think I was fairly fearless in my teens, It's only now it's a bit OMG did that actually happen?

BlueSuedeStiletto · 04/08/2012 20:57

And episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark with a haunted scarecrow. I still can't believe that's a kids show.

Also those fucking statues on Dr Who. Shit me up BAD!

BlueSuedeStiletto · 04/08/2012 20:58

Oops, *an episode...

Whitershadeofpale · 04/08/2012 20:58

Reading Frances Farmer's autobiography 'Will there really be a morning?' I was about 14 and even now I remember certain passages. I've since found out that it was quite inaccurate but I still find it scary that that can happen to a women just because she refused to conform to certain expectations and had a drinking problem. I'm sure anyone else who's read if would have the same reaction (although I've never known anyone that has).

TheCrackFox · 04/08/2012 20:58

Did the bank sort out any after care for you?

I saw the "Thing" when I was about 12 and I nearly shat my pants.

SparklingGoldMedals · 04/08/2012 20:59

Did anyone read the Flowers in the Attic' books when they were younger? I can't remember exact content but they were frightening.

EclecticShock · 04/08/2012 21:01

Does anyone remember the Halloween spoof about "pipes" - was like Blair witch... Made up documentary.... Scared me senseless :)

EclecticShock · 04/08/2012 21:03

I think we are talking about the same thing...

pipes

Oh and the watcher in the woods Disney film.

EclecticShock · 04/08/2012 21:04

Driller killer was hideous too, as was audition.

theboneperson · 04/08/2012 21:04

The Amityville Horror film. Especially the bit at the end that says "This is based on a true story". Shock

Can't bear to dwell on it.

FarelyKnutsAboutTheIrishTeam · 04/08/2012 21:15

Stephen Kings movie "It".. watched it when I was way too young.. Still scared of bloody clowns and get chills when I hear an ice cream van :o

LordOfThe5Rings · 04/08/2012 21:19

my friend was thrown into prison in Thailand in a case of mistaken identity. She was there 5 days and said it was the scariest thing ever. I watched IT when younger but not sure it compares.

LordOfThe5Rings · 04/08/2012 21:21

Candr how awful the prisons over there are disgusting.

A ghost documentary involving kids aimed at kids. I was at a halloween party with a bunch of kids and we were all scared shitless... 25 years ago and we all still remember it! Sarah green was in it, sonit made it seem real and serious :)

DumSpiroSpero · 04/08/2012 21:23

Nightmare on Elm Street 3 - watched round a friend's house with her and her older bro - we were just 13.

I didn't sleep without a light on until I was nearly 19.

Even now I can still remember that bloody song and get the shivers when I come across those old fashioned 'cross' shaped taps.

SparklingGoldMedals · 04/08/2012 21:26

I have never seen a horror film. What would it be like to watch one now? Would i just be Hmm or proper Shock?
