Am trying to find a 'wedding' outfit - nothing too fancy but probably a nice summer dress, but Evans have decided not to bother with dresses this year - aaarrrggghh! Where sells nice stuff in size 20???

4 months to go - calm.... Smile

I always thought Monsoon did teeny tiny clothes! It's been a long time since I've ventured away from Evans (I know, I'm very sad...) so really don't know what other shops do these days. Will check their website.

simply be and its online or via catalogue.
H+M sometimes have nice stuff.

OldieMum · 06/03/2006 14:58

What's your budget? Artigiano have an online shop, though are a bit pricier than some options suggested here. They do two catalogues. One is for 8-20, the other for, 14 upwards. Lots of their spring clothes are weddingy.

I got my 'larger size' outfit for my wedding from Elvi. Some of their stuff can be a little bit frumpy but I got a gorgeous pair of white trousers with a long overdress over the top of them IYSWIM and it looked lovely even if I do say so myself :)

monsoon do some things up to size 22, everything up to 18.

good luck

VeniVidiVickiQV · 06/03/2006 16:21

Moonsoon and next!

Did i hear that Asda also do wedding outfits now?

hockeymum · 06/03/2006 17:25

Definitely recommend La Redoutes plus section called Tailissime. They have an additional brochure they send you full of those things if you request it online or by phone.

Also, simply be might have some nice stuff too.

I've ordered from both in the past.

Echo what you say about Evans this season, I've got vouchers left from Christmas and cant find a thing to wear - also their short length trousers seem to be about 4 inches longer than last year and way too long! moan moan!

hockeymum · 06/03/2006 17:34

Further to the Simply Be comment, just had a look at their website, they've got lovely dresses. 10% off.

have a look at \link{http://simplybeuk.drct2u.com/productcache/DAL/productwindow/PSG2-11030453-primary-1.html}

Have you tried ebay. Obviously you can't try them on, but you can see a range of styles and makes. I've had a few weddingy dresses from there( and felt quite smug at the wedding!) A lot of Monsoon things normally on offer, a surprising amount brand new, or worn once (normally to a wedding). Put in a search of dresses 20 and it will give you what's there. Sometimes you might even get a matching bag/ shoes etc.

Dottydot · 06/03/2006 17:57

I'm doing the ebay search every day!! But am worried about not being able to try on - I know what I'm like - I'll be too disorganised to sell them and money's v. tight!

I quite like this - maybe with a cardi??!

That's lovely and a good price- particularly if you get the 10% off and it looks like the kind of thing you could wear again(the shoes are nice with it too!)

Dottydot · 06/03/2006 18:03

this thread's been fab - have got a day's shopping on March 30th so am hitting the Trafford Centre and then if I haven't had any joy, will probably order the dress I did the link to and hope it looks OK!

alexsmum · 06/03/2006 18:18

ooh - East..! Didn't know they did larger sizes! It's for me to get married in, but it's a small informal 'do' so I don't want anything too wedding-y...

If you can manage to get the a Ghost sale, do try it. I bought mine in a sale and cost less than a hundred quid. They are very forgiving. I'm a size 20 and I was 7 months pregnant.
