Dog owners- what do you do at Christmas & other hols?

We always go to my mum's at Xmas. This year we have a 4 mth old puppy & she has told us she doesn't want it in her house (she doesn't like dogs). Dog is far too young to go to kennels. As she also won't come here, the kids won't see grandma this Xmas.

Wondering about future Xmases, Easter, summer, birthdays etc. What do other families with dogs do? Do you stay at home, so the question doesn't arise, does the dog travel with you, do you use boarding kennels?

we use a boarding kennel,the dogs are really well looked after,walked everyday and if you ask they even give them a bath before you collect them,we're going away for the new year and my neighbour is going to look after the dog,always have a look around the kennel to see the conditions etc,i've also heard of a veterinary nurse that looks after dogs in her own house,you could enquiry to see if there's something similar where you live,ask your vet to recommend something
