for example

How to find out what is within a radius of Hyde Park Corner in London

Who will be the first to find a map that shows the area within the radius?

personally I use a paper map, a bit of string and a pencil

but am on the case

I don't have a map apart from A - Z and that has everything on different pages

the big map of London inside the front cover is pretty handy for this kind of thing

or Transport for London have a downloadable all-London map \link{http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/road_network_map.shtml\here} - I downloaded it, opened it in Photoshop and drew a 20mile circle that I could centre anywhere I wanted. Appreciate it's no use for out of London though.

meanwhile, try 'Find My Nearest' on \link{http://www.upmystreet.com\UpMyStreet} if you're looking for something specific

Google Maps may have a better solution but my crappy Mac browser doesn't support them
