where is the best place to buy bedding for babies?

I got rid of most of mine after dd born as didn't intend on having anymore children however, 10 weeks to go and I need to get mattress covers for moses basket and cot, sheets/blankets etc and an I use the sleeping bags for new borns or wait until older?

Need to know best and most resonable place to buy in bulk if anyone got any ideas.

John Lewis - not the cheapest, but good quality thick cotton.

oh - and you can get sleeping bags for newborns I think, but we used blankets for the first 6 weeks - our DD liked being swaddled, I think she would have floundered a bit in a big baggy sleeping bag.

so far I have worked out that I need to get mattress covers for moses basket and cot, cellular sheets and cotton sheets for moses and cot too. But how many shall I get?

wouldn't think I have already done this would you. My mind is blank.

i got mine from mothercare... they do a bundle that is cheaper than buying individually

thanks, I have had a look but they have run out of pram sets. will keep looking though

I bought 3 mattress covers, 3 flat sheets, and 5 or 6 cellular blankets.

sorry to sound stupid - but what do mattress covers do? Both my moses basket mattress and my cot mattress have zip off covers are these enough? hadn't even thought of buying covers for them and didn't with my dd either.

btw, I found Mothercare ones to be ok. But also got a few bits in Babies r Us as they are cheaper and do bulk sets too.

I took mattress covers to mean fitted sheets (as opposed to flat sheets which I used on top of the blankets)

Toys R Us do a bundle of blankets and bedding aswell

tesco's cellular cot blankets are great, washed and kept shape much better than the ones I got from babies r us. Occasionally you can get them at under a £5

cotton flat sheets - i got in Ikea and are great.

fitted sheets are from mothercare and have lasted well.

I think the zipped mattress covers are sufficient and just need a fitted sheet over.
