Got a call from our Securities department today to say that somehow my Payroll /HR info has been hacked into and an attempt to divert my salary into another account was made -but was unsuccessful. This person/persons now have all of my details including kids and dh's info plus NI number, Driving licence number, mother's maiden name etc so dh and I are prime candidates for identity theft.
As it's the subject of a police investigation, they cant tell me if its an inside job or breach of our firewals. Feel totally pissed off that I've now got the hassle of registering with various agencies to try and minimise the impact.
My boss was horrified and then he got a call to say he'd been done too!!
