Help me get the smell of wee out of DD's boots please!

DD wet herself whilst standing up wearing suede/ette boots. Rinsed and rinsed them in water and they seemed okay. Now they have dried out the smell is really strong.

If i cant get the smell out they are ruined anyway but i would really like to rescue them without damaging them further. Plus they are dark brown and the colour really runs out of them.

Tips please!

VVV - this works on blokes really stinky trainers so might be worth a go. Put lemongrass essential oil on a cotton wool ball and leave inside the boots overnight. Good luck!

I would wash them and use something like bicarb or Vanish on them, Dry them with paper towel or old rag, stuff with paper to keep shape and let them dry naturally.

use a suede brush on them and re-de if necessary.

you have nothing to lose as they aren't wearable at teh mo

I have some suede gloves one of which went through the washing machine and it's ok ( bit lighter than the other one, but I didin't want to re-dye it)

I might run them through the washing machine on a silk wash with some dark towels and hope for the best then.

Thank you.

(And lemongrass tip i will use on dp's trainers - thanks Jacks Smile)
