No, you have to have made an appointment to register the birth within 6 weeks. I have been assured that I've fulfilled my legal requirement by making the appointment. Or, if I have nothing better to do with my life, I can just turn up and wait for up to 3 hours to be seen.

I've been discharged by the midwives so can't get my free cr*p from them. I'll just have to live without it.

IIRC, you can register the birth in a diff register office, not neccassirily the area where your baby was born, it just means they have to send off for the birth certificate, dont know where your next nearest register office is but worth a try if you get a sooner appt.

eing the hopsital and demand they put one by for you! LOL! then go and collect it if you don't live too far from the hospital
