First TV loves (Don't be embarrassed now!)

Got this idea whilst reading the Clooney,Hanks etc. fancying thread. Who were your first loves off the TV? I'll get this rather embarrassing ball rolling (in my defense, I was only aged about 6 at the time!):-

Bo and Luke Duke (The Dukes of Hazzard)- first I fancied the blonde one, then the dark one, then the blonde one again- I would even have worn the cut-off Daisy Duke denim 'knickers' to get at these pair of hunks(?) Was it the way that they got into their car through the window, or their bouffant 70's hair that did it for me, can't quite remember now old age is setting in!

Next Chris Tarrant, no not as he is now, but in the heady days of Tiswas (I could start a whole new thread on Tiswas, but don't worry, I won't!)

Could my taste have been much worse? Well yes, actually! The Goodies, perhaps not obvious sex-symbols, but me and my sisters used to fight over them. We all wanted Tim Brooke-Taylor, then Bill Oddie, and nobody ever wanted Graeme Garden, infact I remember my younger sister crying her eyes out because she got him!

Lastly, and I was a bit older for this one, Michael Praed as Robin 'eah the' Hood. I remember feeling absolutely gutted when they killed him off, and thought life could never be the same with Jason Connery as Robin, funny though, I ended up fancying him too, how fickle I am!

Surely everyone elses can't be as sad as this little bunch?

Much to dh's embarrassment (he's a Sunderland supporter for all those who don't know) when I was 4 I said I was going to marry the permed one himself - Kevin Keegan aaaahhh! Donny Osmond was another one. I then progressed to Martin Shaw in the Professionals, Bobby Ewing in Dallas and then I really grew up and got to Alberto Tomba (Italian skier) who I still like to this day.

I used to fancy Alan from Thunderbirds. I still have crushes now, it's not something I've grown out of. But, yes, mine have also "developed" into Italian sportsmen - Gazzetta - Saturday morning, Channel 4.

Well I used to love The Little House on the Prairie soooo much and I always thought Half Pint's Dad was quite handsome with his long curls and tanned face! R.

Marine boy!!! Yes, I know he was a cartoon... I was very young....

I'd forgotten about David Essex, he was one of mine too - oh the shame!

Starsky from Starsky and Hutch. I always went for the dark ones! Especially in those big knitted cardigans he wore. So macho yet so tender!

Berries · 05/12/2001 14:03

Jodee, I was in love with Captain Scarlet too. I had fogotten all about it until I saw an old clip and realised he bore an uncanny resemblance to my dh! (without the strings of course)

jodee · 06/12/2001 12:54

Berries, it had never occurred to me until now - my Dad, dh and even ds - dead-ringers for Captain Scarlet. And of course my first true love toy - Action Man!

Azzie · 06/12/2001 13:27

Tinker, how could you have fancied Alan from Thunderbirds? Virgil was always the one for me...

Later I admit to Starsky, and Kurt Russell in The Quest (anyone remember that?). Then I grew up a bit and got into Westerns - Clint Eastwood in A Fistful of Dollars, now I'm not too ashamed to admit to that

Bugsy · 06/12/2001 13:33

Adam Ant - when he was wearing all the make up & strutting around being Prince Charming.
Goes without saying that I lurved the blond one from Dukes of Hazard.
Had a massive crush on Clive Owen when he was staring in Chancer.
Tom Cruise in Top Gun - how many times did I watch that video wishing I was Kelly McGillis!
Morton Harkett from AHA.
Miles Colby in Dynasty
Goodness, what a list! So fickle & I haven't even started on my adult crushes!!!!

sis · 06/12/2001 13:38

Another Starsky gal here - and I thought I was being different by not fancying Hutch!

Never ever watched a single episode of The Professionals but caught a few minutes of Martin Shaw the other night on Judge John Deed and thought he looked very sexy and as for the voice... ooooh I need to lie down just thinking about it!!

ChanelNo5 · 06/12/2001 13:39

Bugsy - I liked Mags from Aha, always thought that Morten looked as though he'd plucked his eyebrows!

How I loved Michael Praed. Only as Robin Hood though, he was too cheesy in everything else. Also loved Captain Scarlet, in fact I used to make boys play it with me at primary school so that I could be Marina. I was utterly obsessed with the fact they loved each other but could never be together...ahh.

Others I have to add: Patrick Duffy in the Man from Atlantis, Steve Majors in the Bionic Man and the bloke out of the Incredible Hulk (before he changed into the green hulk!)- there's a pattern here, flawed superhero type...

Hedgehog · 07/12/2001 11:21

Michael Praed, very sexy!

I actually met him when he was playing in the theatre where I used to work for a while may aeons ago!!!! The legs in those Shakespearean tights........ (sorry, hose!)!!!!!!
