I prefer Owen to Christopher.

mower · 26/02/2006 20:53

I like them but don't like it when christopher is shortened to Chris.

crazydazy · 26/02/2006 20:53

Christopher will get shortened to Chris, if you don't mind that then you'll be okay.

Not sure about Owen but everyone has their own tastes don't they?

chipth · 26/02/2006 20:55

Love Owen, but christopher sounds a little old fashioned.

I know someone with two boys and they are each called Owen and Christopher. I like both names.

mousie · 26/02/2006 21:07

also adore Kit as a shortening

mummytosteven · 26/02/2006 21:20

Like both. Prefer Kit to Chris as shortening.

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 26/02/2006 21:21

Like Christopher but not the shortened version (I am wierd like that though, I hate people shortening my boys names)

Owen is ok but not to my taste

Cadmum · 26/02/2006 21:23

Love Owen. Would only choose Christopher if I was happy to have the name shortened. DH never gets Christopher and it sends his mother around the bend. (Also, his full name never fits on any forms so he is oftern Christoph or Christophe but our Surname is a long one as well...)

Aero · 26/02/2006 21:29

Like both. Dh also never gets Christopher - but he much prefers Chris.
I always wanted to have a Christopher, but then I married one - imaging how confusing that would have been!

emkana · 26/02/2006 22:18

Thanks for your answers.

Glad to see that both my names get quite a positive response. I am currently 26 weeks and expecting a boy and finding it very hard to decide on a boy's name. I was so looking forward to naming a girl Matilda, but that won't happen now... oh well.

Don't mind Chris for Christopher, and Kit is nice - I didn't know that that was short for Christopher.
