I will be watching this thread, I want to know too.

I used to pay £40 for 2 hrs a week but the woman was incredible, she did the vacuum cleaning, dusting, some washing, cleaned the bathroom and kitchen to a very high standard and also, most of th times she used to clean the windows. That was about 5 yrs ago though, so it may be more now.

With cleaning companies, they come first to make a quote based in your house size and cleaning needs, my only advice would be to do sort of a spring cleaning before they come, a friend of mine had the house as a tip and they told her they would charge £35 per hour and refused to clean the kitchen or the bathroom.

we used to pay £35 a session and for that the whole houuse was cleaned, dusted, hoovered, kitchen scrubbed, cooker cleaned, toilet, bathroom scrubbed and the whole house left smelling gorgeous

do you think £70 is too much for a good thorough spring clean for a large 4 bed detached inc marble floor, wooden floors, 2 bathrooms, 1 toilet, all skirting boards, windows, kitchen, bathroom etc? We think 2 people x 3 hours

i have had some problems woth my cleaner so have contaced an agency today. There standard domestic serice is two women cleaning for two hours at a charge of £20. I cannot believe how cheap this is especially as they do such a thorough job.
