I am debating whether to go along to this on MOnday. I will be 31 weeks pregnant, do you think it will be a stampede or do you think I will be alright to go. Chatted with dh about this and he said it could be a major terrorist target. What should I do?? At the moment I am 80% for and 20% against going. Sorry to post such a silly thing, but you guys are great and are really helpful in decision making.

I went to Highbury for the Arsenal one, that was end May and dd due August 28, so I must have been 6 months+ and it was fine, squashed but fine. You can always put your arms out around your stomach and if all else fails get your bump out and shout "I'm pregnant"!

I should n't worry about the terrorist thing, if you start changing your life for those cowards it's all downhill from there. They have threatened football matches and there is no way that would stop me going (+ osama arsenal fan so hopefully wouldn't blow up own ground )

Is your dh going with you?

CountessDracula · 05/12/2003 17:31

OH ps couldn't see anything due to not wanting to push through crowd with bump so prob not worth going as you will see more on the telly!

DH can't get the time off work, maybe I could pass out and Jonny Wilkinson will jump off the bus and give me the kiss of life!

don't go!! I'll be there with rotten eggs and juicy tomatoes

seriously though, I tend to agree that you'll see more on TV. Enjoy.... (grrrrrrr)

Davros · 05/12/2003 22:12

I am going come hell or high water, maybe with 8.5 mos baby (hoping Jonny will kiss her and then me!). I've been away for a couple of days so need to check up the route and times. Anyone got a website I can look at? I'll probably try BBC. Even if you can see more on TV there's nothing like actually being at something. Can't wait!

naughtynoonoo · 06/12/2003 08:34

Jonny will be too busy kissing me Davros, so you can have one of the others with cabbage ears!!! I read somewhere that they will be expecting 500,000+ to turn up, I have to decide by tomorrow as I will need to stay at my mums. At the moment it is 70/30 on me going.

I'll have that one who does the throw ins.... not! I looked at the BBC website and its quite a short route. Looks like the end part at Trafalgar Square would be best but also most packed. Not sure where to head for but if they go slow could possibly start in Oxford st, cut through Sth Molton St etc to Regent St and leave via the Traf Sq area....... I think there will be giant TV screens at Traf Sq so maybe best to go direct there....?????

naughtynoonoo · 06/12/2003 14:43

It was just on the news that they were expecting 1 million plus, do you think they are just saying that to keep us away?

Had a wonderful time. Just hung around Trafalgar Square from about midday and burrowed through to reasonable place. Watched the screens, sang Swing Low, horsed around and laughed at the idiots in the fountains! It was very good fun and not even too cold with such a crowd!

Bs ruined my planned shopping trip to meet DH. Bah!

Grumble grumble gripe grouse.

naughtynoonoo · 08/12/2003 17:58

Glad you had a good time Davros and sorry about your shopping trip SoupDragon - think of the money you saved! How close were you to the buses Davros? I bottled out, I think it would have been too much for me, but I have been licking the television all day, do you think they will get tuxed up for tony's - I hope so.

NOT close to buses at all but could see them, I was in line with Nelson's Column. Great atmosphere and lots of funny banter. V funny too when Ken Livingstone got jeered and booed! Haven't decided if I think he deserves it or not but joined in anyway Tea at Buck House was interesting, lots of royal family there obviously dying to meet them! Looking forward to seeing coverage of No 10, sure they'll get tuxed up as they have half an hour or so at hotel for a shave, shower and ssshhhhhhh...... shampoo.
