how do I get rid of hard water deposits?

Boring domestic question here I'm afraid.My microwave steriliser has a film on it,caused by the hard water in our area.How do I get it off?

Don't you need fresh lemon and a few teaspoons of water, then switch it on for a minute or so and that should help remove the limescale?
