Evian it depends on the light and size of your room.

Is it really well lit or is it darker.
Is it small or a big room.

A small dark room would suit creams, yellows, oranges as it will make it look brighter and bigger.

A large well lit room would suit blues, lilacs, burgundys and it would make it cozy with the burgundys or cool with the blue, lilacs.

If you dont want to opt for colored walls why not just paint it cream and color co-ordinate with carpets, rugs, curtains, cushions etc of the color of your choice.

It is up to you.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Oop sorry only just found this. We have stayed very neutral at the moment. Cream carpet and magnolia walls. We are adding colour with cushions, curtains, a rug and throws as well as little nick nacks. Hopefully once its all together it will look really nice. Burgundy and chocolate are two colours that I am toying with at the moment...but cant decide which to go for..lol!

use the two! they look great together (burgundy and chocolat)
