I found this little gem whilst searching for a descaler for my iron:
This is a guide to pleasurable ironing that I devised many years ago to demonstrate that even a task as boring and soul destroying as ironing can be turned into a pleasurable experience if approached with the right attitude.
-
Make sure you are in a warm room with loose, comfortable clothing. Wear light shoes or slippers.
-
Stand at the ironing board. Place your feet about 18 inches apart, and get comfortable. Shift your weight gently from one foot to the other until you feel grounded.
-
Breathe in and out rhythmically. Breathe in through your nose whilst mentally counting to five. Hold that brea th for five, then slowly release the breath, breathing out through your mouth and relaxing your body as you do so.
-
Grasp the iron in your dominant hand. Lift it and hold it so that its sole plate is a few inches from the ironing board. Maintain your steady rhythmic breathing and feel the weight of the iron in your hand. Relax.
-
Slowly lower the iron and move it across the surface of the fabric with a gliding motion. Concentrate on the gliding swooping motion of the iron, and continue your rhythmic breathing.
ROFL Nothing could make my ironing experiences 'Sensual'
