Gosh, you do live in a lively area, don't you? Bet you can't wait to move. When's that likely to happen? Do you have a date yet?

sparklymieow · 16/02/2006 10:13

the houses are being released to the HA at the end of march

My friend lives in a very lovely quiet village, and there was an armed robbery there just after new year.

sparklymieow · 16/02/2006 10:15

i am a bit shaken tbh, i heard the police chopper out but its always out because we live near a field and people who are naughty tend to run across it trying to get away from the police, so didn't think anything of it

Quick stash the loot and say nothing . LOL

katyp · 16/02/2006 10:36

There was one at the post office across the road from me a couple of years ago. I also didn't know anything about it until the police knocked!

sparklymieow · 16/02/2006 11:02

lol mandieb it actually wouldn't surprise me if it was someone from this street... all the gardens back onto it...

We had a robbery at our local Post Office, they drove into the shop!

Also had a drugs raid, with armed police in the Flats I used to live in!
I did report the drugs raid too, by recording activity on my camcorder...

fastasleep · 16/02/2006 11:26

Why the OMG? Oh I guess some of you don't live somewhere where this happens so often that the poice don't even bother coming round anymore...

we only get them around for shootings....

sparklymieow · 16/02/2006 11:36

we don't have armed robbery here very often, just because of everything that has happpened here in the past year, we have the police round 3 times in a year, once because there was an incidence over the field and the police dog traced it to my house there was a break-in last week 2 doors up and now an armed robbery. The area was lovely, quite shocking that its turned around so fast.

We had the police round three times in three weeks over a 'serious assault', 'an attempted murder' and a 'shooting' all of which were on our street lol... Our area was never lovely, it's a shame when nice places go down the pan

sparklymieow · 16/02/2006 11:42

bloodly hell fastasleep, thats terrible... where are you???

I thought this was going to be Springchicken's thread for a minute after the latest on the other thread!!

paolosgirl · 16/02/2006 12:54

My sister lives in a lovely village in Cambridgeshire - one of these perfect places to look at - but the Post Office has been ram-raided twice

Sorry to hear you're still not into your new place yet

When DP and I bought our house for a massive mortgage in a posh (or so we thought) area, about a week afterwards I was changing a newborn DD's nappy when there was a hammering on the door and when I opened it hundreds of policemen swarmed in, started tearing up the stairs and into the living room (where DD was lying on the floor). I stood in the hallway completely bewildered looking confused.

After they'd all stampeded through my house in a frenzy for 5 minutes we eventually established that I wasn't the person who was being battered to a pulp and they all left.

I was most dis-chuffed about the huge mortgage I'd signed and the prospect of frequent police raids. Have never liked the house since tbh.
