It's coming soon to a cinema near me and I'm thinking of taking ds who'll be days away from his 3rd birthday.

Anyone been? Is it good? How scary is it?

If it's the theatre version - we took our 2 1/2 year old last summer. She was a bit scared in parts but hasn't stopped talking about it since. Amusing for adults too...

messagedeleted · 14/02/2006 19:42

Kayleigh · 14/02/2006 19:46

My boys age 7 and 4 are going to see the stage show on thursday with my mum.

Twiga · 14/02/2006 19:52

here's the link for you tassis gruffalos child

tassis · 14/02/2006 20:01

Thanks for link, Twiga, though most people there are talking about the Grufallo and this is G's child. Assume it's similar.

Fishfinger says on that thread that it's a waste of time for 3 year olds - care to elaborate cod? guessing messagedeleted might be you???

Kayleigh would you let me know how it is? I'm hoping my mum will take ds in April...

Not seen Griffalo's Child, but I took DD, age 3yo, to see the gruffalo earlier this year and it was fantastic. So good I bought her the DVD for Christmas whilst there, which she watches loads and still loves. Will definitely be going to see Gruffalo's Child when it tours here.

Depends on your own child as to whether they will enjoy it or get much from it. My DD has enjoyed going to the theatre for children's stuff since being just before 2yo, and she is good at staying concentrated on the stage and what is happeneing. Her langauage and understanding was pretty good too so she could follow the stories.

DD didn't find The Gruffalo show scary at all.

tassis · 14/02/2006 20:17

Thanks Hulababy. Ds has been to a few kid's things at the theatre and loved them. I was a bit cautious about this as it says for 3years up on the publicity and he'll not quite be 3 and can be a bit of a scaredy cat! Also want it to be OK as i'll be away and asking Granny to take it (want it to be a lovley treat!!).
