I went last night with my (slightly) older sister. We've both been Rod fans since early teenage, I would say he's the only pop star I've ever been a true "fan" of. My friends at school all liked the Osmonds and David Cassidy and I rejected them on the grounds that Rod was better and liked football and booze
At first we thought OHMYGOD! We got the giggles and thought it was going to be awful. You know how stage performance is SO telegraphed, projected and overemphasised? Then it got going, we rememebred that its written by Ben Elton and SUPPOSED to be funny and we had a FANTASTIC time. We loved all of it apart from the second scene which was, literally, a scene setter. There were lots of cliches, naff jokes and references to Rod songs. I strongly recommend it to Rod fans. Not sure if you're not a fan though there were certainly people who'd just gone along to the "latest" show.
Anyone else going or do you all think I've had a taste bypass?
