Looks like we are going next August (2007) for a year. Where do I start? I am taking a career break from the NHS but would like to work as a locum SLT in Australia for probably 9 months.

I really need to know about locum agencies, visas, accomodation costs for Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. We would need something with two bedrooms.

Anyone help?

What is a SLT ? Accomodation costs and general living expenses are way lower than the UK. Brisbane has the cheapest rents, then Melbourne and then Sydney.
Have you any idea where you want to live? Beach, mountains etc etc?\
Have you contacted Australia House...they have great info packages.

As far as i know they are crying out for speech therapists etc look on here

as for finding somewhere to live there are plenty of websites etc also if you get a fixed contract they will probably set something temporary up for you.

lucky person i am so jealous - would love to go there

In terms of living Expenses - Brisbane is cheaper than the other two.

They are crying out for speech therapists...you may find a private practice/govt dept who will sponsor your work permit visa situation.

try here for more info.
