thinking of starting a stall at the market, where do I get stock from?

My friend has asked in I want to run a stall at the market with her as her uncle gives out the pitches and said we could have one in the new year. Think we will probably do kids clothes or underwear or something, but wouldn't have a clue as to where to get the stock from.
Does anyone know where we could start looking.
Thanks in advance.

Most market stall holders get their stuff from wholesalers. I'd have a look in your local Yellow Pages for names and numbers.

You could approach a local factory (yellow pages) and see either who they sell on to or whether they have a surplus of overruns or seconds to supply direct.

I think one of our market stall holders picks up (2nd hand) cute kid's clothes from car boot sales, wash clean & press she re-sells on the town street market for more than she bought it for.

Bouncy - where do you live - are you in London?

I worked in the rag trade for years. Great Portland Street and all the roads around and off GPS are all wholesalers.

Failing that think of brands you want to stock, ring their head office and ask for their nearest wholesale outlet.

hope you make a small fortune - good luck.

for second hand clothing, ask your local charity shops what they do with their surplus stock - they often get given far more than appears on their shelves. Many will already have regular collectors who take it all away for them, but some may not. Sometimes the more wierd and way out clothing, or items in need of repair, will get siphoned off before they reach the shop rails. No harm in asking - and say pay for them.
