just that! I'm sure there'll be a thread on it somewhere but I don't have time to look. DD has a bug, which I thought had cleared up but oh no . Carpet now smells of scrambled egg and pineapple. mmm, nice. Sorry if tmi.

bicarb of soda is supposed to eliminate odours - sprinkle some on offending patch - leave for a while then vaccum - good luck!

Cover it with bicarbonate of soda, leave overnight, then hoover up.

It usually works but if it doesn't then use a solution of half vinegar to half water to scrub the area with.

soda bi carb - made into a paste and applied over the affected area and vacuumed up when dry. Works a treat!

WigWamBam · 07/02/2006 13:31

That'll be white vinegar ... not the stuff you put on your chips

and if all else fails, use Vanish carpet spray

sis · 07/02/2006 13:38

yes, paste made with water.

Mix washing powder with water at a very high concentration and sponge onto carpet and leave for a few hours. Then sponge off.
This worked wonders in my car after my ds puked all over it. The enzymes in the washing powder break down whatever it is that makes the smell.
