Why should I have to put how many children I have on a job application form?

OK, it is a job abroad and they have to find you accommodation and presumably school for the kiddiwinks, but can't that happen AFTER you've got the job? Am I just too suspicious, or do I see someone thinking - "Oh God, woman with two small children, we don't want one of them!"

You could just leave it blank.

Maybe they use the information to do prelimary research re housing/schools for those applicants they shortlist - to tell you about their findings for your family at the interview day.

I think there should be no reason why you should have to put any details of that nature on your form. I would just leave it blank. I agree with you that it sounds suspicious, and TBH, if they have a problem with you not filling in that section, then you didn't want to work for them anyway....

I think I will ask them why. I can't see them going to a lot of trouble to tell you if you might get the job what the expat package is.

I would leave it blank....theres a lot of people around like my old boss who was a complete twat and didn't believe in hiring women who might one day leave to have a family - hence I worked with a very large team of blokes for years!!! but recently left to have a baby!!! HA HA although he didn't speak to me for the 5 months after I told him I was pregnant!!
