radiators and things in front of them

having radiators fitted finally (Hooray some warmth!!!0 and wondered where yours are and what u have in front of them?

I tend not to put anything in front of my radiators as it traps the heat in.

I have a few behind doors though, and when the doors are open, they are in front of them?

We were thinking about this today as we wanna change room around and wasn't sure if we could put things in front of them?

I have lots of clothes and towels drying on mine - on rails of course.

reason i ask is because they have been round and said where they are going (i have no choice as its being done free via a grant) and am having probs rearranging the rooms round. trying not to have too much in front of them as i want them to make a difference loL!

If you do have to put furniture in front of them, perhaps pull it away a few inches from the radiator.... not shove it right up against it. My mu did that and wondered why her livingroom was freezing... as soon as she pulled her sofa out a bit the heat began to circulate!

we have ours all below windows - don't know why but all apart from the hall, and two bath room ones.

bathroom ones have a towel rack over each, the box room has a sofa bed in front of it - althou it's pulled away from the front so the heat still gets out (althou not much - enough to take the chill off the room) - good as that radiator gets v v hot, but the rooms freezing! apart from that we have nothing on them.
