mumtotoby - we got yes from rascals as well last week they are v.expensive and not so nice to talk to, it may be worth going for the consultation at least you'll know if you like them. i decided not to.

Mummy2Toby · 07/02/2006 18:07

sh11 - thank you for that

I don't seem to be dong too well - yes from BK and Rascals so far but nobody seems to think that much of either of these.

I have tried looking on AK website but my browser doesn't seem to like it! and I hope I am not showing my stupidity but izzy mentioned CK, who are they

hi totallyfloaty.my dd has had just the one casting since she joined u/a in november.someone i know that is a art director for a baby mag(shame is only babies)told me children of 9 10 11 dont get as many casting as younger children.there is so many more publicatons and product for younger children.they also book more little ones for the same shot as sometime they dont always perform on the day . i think our dd might get some work in the summer when they are doing the christmas stuff.thats if they want a brown curly haired 9 year old .fingers crossed

Gumbee · 07/02/2006 18:29

Allie - what time is your appointment at AK on 25th? Mine's at 12.15, hope to see you there.

mykidsmum, how come you only get get told the day before the casting or audition (or are they the same thing). wouldnt it be lovely to have a week to plan!do clients honestly look at kids pics say on a mon and arrange the shoot for the following day

cyan · 07/02/2006 18:42

izzy what made you go for B&B just out of interest? i really thought you were going to go for IK! PLeased that you and dh have made your minds up, now dd can be put forward for jobs ! just found out my aunt is pregnant with her second, her ds 14mths and im feeling extra broody and v jealous , want another one.

cyan · 07/02/2006 18:44

ive got a question, just out of interest to those mums whose kids have had jobs, how quickly did you find out after casting or does it vary. when ds had casting before it took a week or so but that may have been because he wasnt picked?

mykidsmum · 07/02/2006 18:46

Thats always the way it has been except for massive jobs like Persil and Huggies, but yes often it is done this way, I think we've had a week to plan before but it is often only a day or two. I have no idea why but it seems to work the same in adult modelling too, from the adult models on jobs i have spoke to.

7's the longest notice we have ever had was 2 days, for most jobs they will phone you in the afternoon for casting next day, we got a call last week at 10.30am for a job that same day at 1.30 in the afternoon think some one must have phoned up sick?, really don't under stand why it is all so last minute.

got another call tonight for a commercial but don't get to excited ,she can't ride a skate board

mykidsmum · 07/02/2006 18:48

Depends on the client Cyan I have found out on the train on the way home beofre but often one to two days after. With huggies it was a month before we heard a big fat NO. Used to get dead excited but am alot more chilled now.

OP posts:
cyan · 07/02/2006 18:48

alysia must be at work til all hours trying to find castings etc

7777777 · 07/02/2006 18:50

perfumelady, teach her to ride a skateboard overnite!!

cyan · 07/02/2006 18:50

im not getting excited so if they say yes, great news, if no ok.

mykidsmum · 07/02/2006 18:51

What not excited at all?? you must be alot more chilled than i was

OP posts:
cyan · 07/02/2006 18:51

7s you make me laugh! i can skateboard...in a straightline. im absolutely rubbish at it!

7777777 · 07/02/2006 18:51

cyan, dont fib, you have to be excited!iam, i cant wait till you hear something, even if he doesnt get picked, wot an achievement today was and especially as there were only you and 1 other, fantastic, charlie is soooo gorgeous tho

cyan · 07/02/2006 18:53

mykidsmum, i used to be the sort of person who got themselves so worked up it wasnt healthy, i wouldnt say i was chilled out either maybe just in between?! hope he does get it but dont want to get all hyped up and then they say no, does that sort of make sense in a roundabout way!

cyan · 07/02/2006 18:54

oh alright just a teeny weeny bit of excitement just so you dont all think that im mad! im bloody sitting by the phone as i type!

cyan · 07/02/2006 18:55

7s not sure if you posted about calpol, but i found liam just by chance!!! i love that picture of him

perfumelady · 07/02/2006 18:58

7,s in the half term i'm going to teach her to ride a bike, roller skate ,skate board!!! no not really, why can't they just do an advert where she can lick an ice cream or something? she's missed out on a few jobs now because she can't do what is required, three of them were commercials, but at least i know that companies are wanting her thats almost as good as getting the jobs iykwim

tigeryuan · 07/02/2006 18:59

cyan - fingers crossed for you. good luck!
