thinking of joining nct......are u in the club too?

What are the involvements? As thinking of joining in after I have my baby in June as keen to volunteer (to get me out of the house when I can) and to make friends. Ive had a look on the website to give me a sort of idea about it.

I would go along to some of their activities (e.g. a Bumps and Babies group or coffee group) before volunteering for anything. I'm guessing this is your first baby and you might not feel like doing much once it arrives. Just going to groups will enable you to meet people. I volunteered as Chair for my local branch of the NCT when my DS was about a year old and it was a lot of work. I did it for a year then just couldn't hack anymore. I wouldn't do it again, or any other committee position (for reasons of branch politics as well as the workload). I would volunteer again to help at the Bumps and Babies group or at a Nearly New Sale (for these you can just volunteer to help on the day and you get first dibs on the merchandise), but not with a small baby.

P.S. You do NOT need to be a member to attend NCT events such as Bumps and Baby groups or Nearly New Sales. You do need to be a member to volunteer.

thank you needstodo.....ill have a go going along to the meet ups etc but i go any further.

this is my 3rd baby so both of my dcs are at school atm - one mornings and one all day.
