ok got to Control Panel (either by Start settig control panel or jsut Start and Control Panel)then double click regional and Languages, go to the languages tab, click on the details button in TExt services and change the keyboard to English UK. hopefully that will work.

hub2dee · 02/02/2006 16:37

Your shift key is stuck down.

Or else is in SHIFT-LOCK (dedicated key somewhere) - I suspect it is just dirty goopy shift key tbh.

hub2dee · 02/02/2006 16:39

Don't think it's country setting tbh, though would be happy to eat my words. All examples you describe, mumatuks could be normal behaviour (I think) with shift key held down.

You could try hitting it hard, that often helps.

hub2dee · 02/02/2006 16:40

didn't read about babytuks... yep, he is the guilty party.

Keys have ickle springs underneath. He may have dislodged. Make sure the punishment fits this heinous crime.

waterfalls · 02/02/2006 16:40

Everytime I do something like that, I do a system restore so DH does'nt find out

mumatuks · 02/02/2006 16:40

ok i@m completely screwed> i followed your instructions but when i doubble click the regions button it selects the "! before it (thats meant to say twenty one) items before it and asks me if i really want to open the twenty two items! so i clicked cancel> {a dur mumatuks is stupid emoticon here please}

regional settings in the control panel from the start button (maybe through settings)

you want the english (uk) one

Carlk · 02/02/2006 16:41

Kelly1978 · 02/02/2006 16:42

right click the regions iocon instead and select open. it shouldnt select the others as well then.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 02/02/2006 16:44

tarantula · 02/02/2006 16:45

hub2dee · 02/02/2006 16:45

OP posts:
hub2dee · 02/02/2006 16:49

But QV, you must repeat the reboot thing until you break down in tears and yell, 'I'm going to get a f*cking Mac. Right Now.'

Then salvation and serenity will descend upon your lofty womanly pillows and peace will be unto all mankind.

... of course I mean personkind.

mumatuks · 02/02/2006 16:50

Thanks all for your help! Won't let babytuks at the computer again.. or eat toast at breakie whilst reading MN!

OP posts:
hub2dee · 02/02/2006 16:50

You can buy cannisters of compressed air. You can give your computer keyboard a blow job and it will greatly thank you. You will be amazed at what comes out.

mumatuks · 02/02/2006 16:52

LOL! H2D [frin]
