what do you do?
what do i bring?
what's it all about?

i've been told to bring some food... but assume the point is to bring a present too? i'm more than happy to, just no idea what she would like, feel a bit funny buying a present for a baby that hasn't arrived yet, don't know if it's a boy or girl etc.
The host also mentioned bringing some "games" - EH?

any insights gratefully received!

What's it all about? Having some fun before the baby arrives. You won't see your friend for a while once the baby is there. Yes, you are expected to bring a present. I think it is best to ask the mum-to-be or the organisers what they would like. They might even have registered a list. There are some wonderful gender neutral presents out there, e.g. Newborn clothes rolled up to look like a bouquet; all children love sophie the giraffe. The best game i know involves guessing who is who from baby photos but that means everyone has to bring one. There is a game that is funny but gross. Get different flavour chocolates. You put one choc in a nappy and microwave so it melts and looks like poo. People then have to try it and guess the flavour.
