Does anybody else drive a toyota? Or any other brand that has endless 'malfunction warning lights' popping up ?

That's it basically - I am fed up with every four months or so, one or other of three possible warning indications lighting up and the booklet tells me direly to 'take vehicle to dealership', whereupon I am swiftly relieved of a couple of hundred pounds for something obscure like "oxygen in the transmission" (Wtf?).

Does this happen to other people? Is it a scam? The car is about 5 years old and can't be that much of a dud, surely?

Hd two Toyotas and they have been the two most reliable cars ever bar none.
My Renault, Merc and Vauxhall all had the problem you describe though.

We have a mondeo estate automatic and there is always get this problem. The currnet one is the "overdrive " light flashing, it only flashes if we have been driving a lot on twisty roads. Its been in the garage three tiwms and each time they said it "needs computer updates"!!!!

Don't know what causes it, but Dh reckons its a scam to get our money!!!!

I'm with your dh Saltire - mine's an automatic estate too and I just can't believe how often this happens.
I shall ignore it for a bit.

dh has a clapped-out peugeot that's always got a warning light on for the engine. He's ignored it for years & the thing still trundles on.
