Why wont they sleep???

They share a room and are both awake and playing with toys, taking their pjs off and generally being PITAs

Dont they know its gone 11pm at night????

They are 3 and nearly 2

they are trying to kill you

soapbox · 26/01/2006 23:08

Are they in a proper bed time routine?

Bath, story, bed. Same time every night?

QE2 · 26/01/2006 23:11

Too much sleep, too late in the day??

7777777 · 26/01/2006 23:12

OMG poor you, have they eaten lots of sugary foods or is this normal?

TambaTheInnocentPrincess · 26/01/2006 23:15

This is normal of the last couple of weeks!

DS1 hasnt had a nap today, ds2 slept a litle in the car.

Ds2 always goes to bed about 6.30pm, ds1 goes half an hour later when ds2 is asleep but for the last couple of weeks ds1 has been waking him up and then they wont settle. It is driving me mad.

DS2 wont sleep in his cot, he climbs out and gets into ds1s bed.

I need to get him a proper bed but we cant affort one atm.

my sis has got dd 4.5, dd 3 (they share a room) and ds 13months.

the girls have always been awful sleepers and waking each other up which then wakes baby up.

the elder one started school this term and since then she sleeps and the other 2 do as well, so they must have been waking each other up.

ShaysMummy · 26/01/2006 23:19

I remember me and my bro sharing a room. It was all kosher in those days. We used to have a right scream. Except when he used to come into my bed saying he was cold then fart on me. But, it has to be said, sharing a room when little provided some of my best childhood memories.
Mum used to get angry, hearing us giggling and stuff but eventually she would just ignore us and we would go to sleep. Her ignoring us was the worst!

7777777 · 26/01/2006 23:22

my brother used to fart on my arm!thats bought back the memories of sharing rooms!

thats prob the good thing tamba that theyre laughing and not arguing. bloody annoying for you and id hate it but my mum always says "itl get better/easier", bless her

ShaysMummy · 26/01/2006 23:25

on your arm?!! He actually farted on my face once! I was kicking and screaming but I couldn't escape!

ShaysMummy · 26/01/2006 23:25

7777777 · 26/01/2006 23:30

he also used to sit on my back and punch me in the kidneys, it well hurt. id be screaming for my mum and she didnt hear me or chose to ignore!

expatinscotland · 26/01/2006 23:42

My newborn hasn't gone down before 2.30AM in ages.

ShaysMummy · 26/01/2006 23:43

my god expat love, you must be exhausted....

sunchowder · 26/01/2006 23:44

My sympathies.....I remember the days, believe me.

expatinscotland · 26/01/2006 23:50

She sleeps from about 2-8.30AM, so it's not that bad. BUT, she's awake a lot of the day, she just catnaps. Of course, I've got a 2.6 year old who wakes about 8AM, but she actually still naps!

Guess we're lucky to have one good sleeper, DD1 has slept 12 hours/night since she was about 6 weeks old.

sunchowder · 26/01/2006 23:52

Yes you are lucky. My DD was premature, she slept in 1 1/2 hour increments for quite a bit and then on to 3 and 4 hours. She did not sleep through the night until she was a little more than 3 years old. I NEVER want to go back to that!

expatinscotland · 26/01/2006 23:56

I hear ya, sunchowder. I can't wait to have my coil fitted - unfortunately there's a 3 month wait for it here .

sunchowder · 27/01/2006 00:02

OMG!!! 3 month wait...geez, what are you going to do? I guess you could check that Baptist thread?

sunchowder · 27/01/2006 00:02

Do you want me to post you some Bush beans or anything? Have you seen the thread going? Let me know if you want anything.

expatinscotland · 27/01/2006 00:05
