Just wondering.... it's only available with a subscription.

I did read it once. Gosh. It was something else. I liked bits of it but it really was very full on Hardcore Lentil Weaver stuff. The best part for me was leaving it on the coffee table so my mother would pick it up and read it when she came over. Her face! ROFL.

Is the woman who edits it the one with the 10 year old who wants the birthday breastfeed?

Fauve · 26/01/2006 22:08

Apparently the ed is in that breastfeeding prog, yes. I don't think I've ever seen a copy - surprising, really, for a lentil weaver like myself; I ate some quinoa for the first time today, as well.

FrannyandZooey · 26/01/2006 22:09

Oh, congratulations! Or, erm, I suppose commiserations, depending on whether you liked it or not

Fauve · 26/01/2006 22:11

It was nice, actually. But something I ate's making me fart a lot.

FrannyandZooey · 26/01/2006 22:12

Here's the website if anyone is interested.

FrannyandZooey · 26/01/2006 22:12

Erm, that's the website for The Mother magazine, not for Fauve farting.

Spidermama · 26/01/2006 22:26

Yes I love it BUT am angry with them at the moment. I paid a yearly sub and six weeks or so later they sent an old magazine which was out of date. That was three or four months ago and I'v heard nothing from them since.

Thanks for reminding me. I'm going to look into it.

Great magazine though.

Spidermama · 26/01/2006 22:31

I used to be able to buy copies at my pregnancy yoga class in Brighton.
I'm annoyed they still haven't sent it. They're crap at organising. Probably brain-melded due to extended breastfeeding.

pupuce · 26/01/2006 22:44

I have read it since it started... gave a subscription to another mumsnetter.
It's definitely very alternative...
I know several people who have written their stories in there too.
I was just curious if anyone else read it.

P.S. I have never had a subscription problem.

Fauve - it's definitely the quinoa!!! Let that be a lesson to you. Meddle not with the natural order....quinoa is not a foodstuff. It is a form of aggregate. Or possibly an anti-bumping granule for school chemistry experiments.

pupuce · 27/01/2006 10:10

Ghost - Are you joking?

OP posts:
Meanoldmummy · 27/01/2006 10:22

(I was the Ghost) No, certainly not. Eating quinoa is like chewing shredded wax flavoured with schoolroom chalk. And WHAT are those little worm-like entities that detatch themselves and float to the top when you boil it? It is not a foodstuff!

MissChief · 27/01/2006 10:25

never heard of it b4 but intrigued having checked out website. What a load of bollocks about vaccinations though (just to go back to that old chestnut!) - "vaccination is global terrorism"?? Pl-e-ease!! Never, ever heard such crap even from the most ardent anti-vacs friends/mners!

Levanna · 27/01/2006 12:31

MissChief thanks for the link on the other thread. It is my sort of thing! FWIW, I have several friends who don't vaccinate due to similar beliefs, I do and we have interesting discussions on the subject. I have to say, we've never felt the need to resort to blasting each others views

Fauve · 27/01/2006 14:56

[whines] But Dr McKeith says I've got to eat quinoa...

It was actually quite nice as part of a Pure Pronto organic ready meal from Tesco - how's that for virtuous? And under 300 calories too (But the farting was pretty awful.)

motherinferior · 27/01/2006 14:58

Apparently you're being frightfully not quite the thing by using the word fart, Fauve, see that other thread.

Fauve · 27/01/2006 15:12

I wonder if I should make FartyFauvewithaFanny my posting name, then?

Meanoldmummy · 27/01/2006 15:16

Or FannyFarterFauve

Fauve · 27/01/2006 15:32

Or FauxVulvet.
