Evening, all! We have a 2up 2 down victorian terrace and are wondering about converting the loft as we NEED MORE SPACE!! Would we need to employ an architect initially or can a good builder come up with a simple plan? I'd be interested to hear if anyone has any experience of this. We have a very limited budget and need to get it right! How long does it normally take to complete the project? I want it done yesterday .

We recently had a loft conversion done by www.accessloftconversions.co.uk and there service was excellent. Very professional and prompt service.

Do not use Econo lofts read the google reviews about this company on the second page ,once they start you wont be able to get hold of them as you have to phone the head office and go through the girls on the phone so the company uses these girls as a buffer to stop you getting hold of your project manager if you have problems,Plus they are what the name states ECONO cheap and very badly built to many corners cut, the whole experience was so bad we had to get rid of them and get another Loft company in to restart and finish the loft,

never use plus rooms plus. gareth lloyd is a cowboy builder who is just after your money. 11 weeks into a 6 week build and 40k down I was left with no roof or windows and he wanted more money. not single apology for delay or to damage to my flat, furniture or water damage to flat below as a result of having an open roof for 9 weeks

workmen are nice lads and would do well working for a proper builder

Totally disagree regarding econoloft. We had a loft conversion with them in 2012, fantastic quality and service, no issues at all.
