Hi

I have asked this before and got some good leads... but I am still looking.
I need to find a venue to train women (group of 15). It's a 3 day course (weekdays) 3 to 4 times a year.
I am looking for a venue that is affordable that's about £50/day (not £170 that I often get quoted )... any ideas ???

MANY thanks

Whereabouts in London Pupuce? Libraries, church halls & schools would probably be the most economic. 3 days could be a bit tricky as often they are already being used for different things. There is a very nice pub near me with a function room that could easily accomodate 15 women & that would probably be free - not sure what their room charge would be. That's SW18, sort of Wandsworth area.

I think theat St Thomas' has a room which can be hired out for any purpose, my friend was going to name her baby there, said it was cheap. I'll see if I can find out for you. PS, dead posh room with lots of historical pictures if it is where I am thinking of!!

Central? Try the Bishopsgate Institute pupuce.

Thanks guys.... have e-mailed Bishopgate (as no price was listed... though suspect it might be too pricey).
Bugsy - Wandsworth would be OK - could you get their tel number ?
Flosssam - can you find out for me ???

I am really genuinely interested.
Alternatively I use people's lounges if they want to do the course too

Pupuce, looked on internet site but no info that I can find. Was going in today, but think I have changed my mind? I'm next in on a night so no help, but ring 02071887188, and see if the reception is able to help you. Dont bother faffing with the automatated voice service, just say 'operator' as soon as she starts blithering on .

pupuce, posh-sounding venue, but nearest Square Mile has to a community centre, so if you pitch it with your usual verve, they might give you a stonker of a discount...

The YWCA in Portland Place is nice, and pretty cheap, but not sure if you have to be a member. The Indian YMCA near Warren St is good too, and you definitely don't (also great curry!)

pupuce, if Whitechapel is an option, the Idea Store there can be good, and is underused. (And can be free. Maybe. Although it probably won't be in the long run.)

Our local yoga place (in Bethnal Greenish) costs £70/day, and has yoga mats.
