as i got punched in my nose side ways and it moved the griselle (sp)

4 yrs ago i had an op to shave the cartridges in both nostrils but only the tightness in my neck had got and ive had less colds but my head still got teh tightness feeling and the T sinuses pattern are always throbbing cos of cols never seems to clear up properly

last year my DP pressed on the bone on the edge of my nose where the lump is (cos it had been moved by the punch) and i can breathe light and properly so headache and sinuses throbbing feel disappear

im waiting for to see my docs again

I have had one major nose op when I had a commuted fracture (think this means shattered) when someone dived into my face in a pool.

It wasn't 100% successful - I still get lots of sinus problems, every time I have an allergy/cold, I get a lot of mucousy blood dripping down the back of my throat and although my nose is nearly straight, it's not 100%.

I was advised only to have another op if my symptoms were really interfering in my life as there was no guarantee that a second op would do much better and there was a lot of scar tissue/difficult bone to contend with.

It's worth getting the opinion of an ENT though - I was once prescribed a fantastic powerful steroid spray that I had to take for a few weeks that completely brought down the sinus swelling. I only wish I could remember what it was called so I could ask the GP for it!

Yes I've had one
Not hugely pleased with the result
Broke my nose as a teen - had a bump taken off and an attempt at straightening years later
Not straight still and I can't breathe well through one nostril

BUT do you still get the 'T' sinuses headaches though? as also since i had the op, i can feel the phelgm at the back of my throat permantly - yuck!
