Just noticed that there is a charge for this.

Thought it was a bit cheeky - what does everyone else think?

nO t really cheeky at all - because annual subscriptions have been dropped.

SoupDragon · 19/01/2006 16:30

It's a charge for a whole year and replaces the voluntary subscritions.

Perfectly reasonable when you consider that each CATis checked and sent on by a member of MN Towers.

Prettybird · 19/01/2006 16:30

.. and the CATs do involve human intervention, as they are chekced to see if thiere is nothing inappropriate in them before frowarding them on.

You can't get something for nothing.

It is for a whole year too.

BadgerBadger · 19/01/2006 16:31

£5 is for a years worth of CAT's though, isn't it? As opposed to subs. Do people who've paid their subscription recently also have to pay this too? Seems like the only situation that might make it a bit unfair.

Prufrock · 19/01/2006 16:34

Mumsnet have said that if you have recently paid a volunatary sub e-mail them and they will give you CAT's for free.

Given the individual attention each one gets I don't think it's cheeky at all, especially as Mumsnet have never objected to people comunicating with each other without their intervention by posting e-mail addresses on board.

BROWNY · 19/01/2006 16:36

BB - I thought that the CAT charge was on top of the voluntary contribution, I didn't realise that it replaced it - so yes, I agree it is well worth the charge!! Sorry Mumsnet!!

lol browny, I only realised because I saw a post about it the other day. Apparently it's all detailed in an email sent to anyone who accepts them, I do but I can't say I read them!

Happy to do this I paid straight away
Especially relevant on people who just use the for sale boards I reckon...

SoupDragon · 19/01/2006 17:28

If you've recently paid your voluntary subscription, I believe you can email MN TOwers and they'll set CAT up for free.
