Fake charity collections... these people really P me off!

Had a leaflet through the door for a 'fake' charity collection, private company asking for donated items so that they can "provide people in third world countries with clothes they can afford".
I know I'm sad, but I checked at companies house/did a bit of googling and although it is a registered ltd company it is run out of a flat in East London!
Is there any one I can complain to about them? and yes, I do have better things to do with my time but these people really do P me off!

I agree, unfortunately many people don't check these bags carefully enough. It's put me off giving at the door full stop, I always go to the charity shop myself.

A lot of these little charities aren't necessarily fake, but they're not registered with the charity commission because the rules have changed recently making it unviable for a tiny charity to be registered anymore.

Personally, i don't care as long as they take my junk away. Whatever happened to rag and bone men?

If they're masquerading as charities, btw, as opposed to stating that they're private, you can complain to the charities commission.

They are not actually saying they are a charity but they make money out of the excuse of providing clothing etc to third world countries when in fact they are crooks. They set up a legitimate company, sell the goods here - even through ebay - and ship the rest usually to eastern european countries. These people are probably also involved in organised crime. After a year or so they bump the company without paying any tax or VAT and then set up again in another name. It makes my blood boil that they get away with it.

I didn't know they were associated with organised crime.
